A Journal, with Pictures

Vienna, Austria

by on Sep.19, 2015, under Happenings

Its Sunday and we awake as we arrive in Vienna and its clear that it’s going to be a very warm day. After breakfast we depart by bus for a tour of this wonderful historic city. All during our trip we have learned about the Hapsburgs and their empire. Vienna was their capital city, so we see their main Palace in the center of the city and then in the afternoon we visit their summer palace. Schonbrunn Palace gives us a up close look at the grandure to which they treated themselves. We had time to walk the center of the city starting at the Palace, and through the main shopping district to the Cathederal. Very interesting architecture and momunments sprinkled in for visual varieity. The Schonbrunn Palace grounds are huge and the building is not airconditioned with hoards of people doing the tour. To cool off we treat ourselves to an ice coffee after the tour that is mostly ice cream with a little coffee and wipped cream, what do you expect, its Vienna.
