A Journal, with Pictures

Budapest, Hungary

by on Sep.19, 2015, under Happenings

It’s the first of September and we are cruising into Budapest, which turns out to be a very beautiful city, particularly viewed from from the Danube. We are in Hungary another former Communist country, but this case not grey but vibrante becuase of its history and gorgeous architecture. We get lots of photo ops. while cruising to our docking point. We then have a city tour that takes us to the Palace area overlooking the cities of Buda and Pest, then the hero’s monument and finally to the Market Hall. Budapest has wonderful architecture visibible from the ship with huge historic structures in every direction, its clear in one day we are only going to scratch the surface.

Our last night is highlighted with a night cruise on the Danube after dinner to view the incredible citie at night. Its a perfect way to end our Danube cruise which was wonderful. We did not comment throughout this description about the AMASonata, our ship, because it would be redundant saying over and over again fabulose. Every detail and everything about our experience on board this ship was as near perfect as we can imagine. AMA has taken all of the things that can irritate a traveler and eleminated them, then provided the best of what travelers want, an incredible experience.

The next morning we say our final good byes to our wonderful cruise director, Lisi and are off to the airport for our flight to Paris and then on to Normandy.
