Dayton Air Show
by Gil on Jul.16, 2012, under Happenings
On Sunday July 8th. we attended the Dayton Airshow. It was hot, but not as hot as the day before so attendance was up from Saturday. As usual it was a great show enhanced by clear skies. There was the usual static display of military, civilian and vintage war bird aircraft. The flying started around noon and finished after the Blue Angles did a great performance ending the show late in the afternoon. The flying acts included aerobatics acts featuring Gene Soucy and Michael Goulien as well as a wing walker. Lots of smoke and explosions with the ever popular Tora, Tora, Tora. The Misty Blues did both a opening American flag drop and their full team jump. There were a number of war birds in the air including a Navy A‑4B, P‑51, F‑4 Phantom, and Sea Harrier. The Blue Angles were the feature attraction and they not disappoint. It was a great show again in 2012.
The airshow capped off a very busy week that wouldn’t have been practical without our trusty Cirrus. Lots of family, flying, flying friends and aviation. Great week!
